Definitely one of the worst interviews I have had the chance to participate in, and I've conducted interviews myself.
Expect an interrogation, not a conversation.
At the beginning, there was a mention of "seeing how the interviewee thinks about different approaches," when in reality, it was a test of the interviewee's memory regarding how browsers or native approaches behave. If you are either not aware of certain aspects or have only heard about some of them but never bothered diving deep (because why would you want to reinvent the wheel of libraries or frameworks in commercial SaaS projects?), then you are out of luck.
"There is no need for you to introduce yourself; we have everything in the attached resume, so let's start with the interview." An introduction is a great icebreaker for both parties and provides an excellent opportunity for the interviewer to segue into specific topics.
However, given that this was more of an interrogation, I am not surprised the company decided this was not valuable.
It appears that the meeting will be cut short, as the interviewer(s) do not bother looking at your resume/experience until you pass the memory/theory check, rendering everything you have done in practice completely invalid.
To the company: Remember, the style of your interviews reflects not only on who you are hiring but also on your organizational values. An interrogation-style interview is often perceived negatively and could be a deterrent for potential talent.
To illustrate, even if everything had gone well in my case, I would not have wanted to proceed further.
