I applied for the position, and did not hear back about anything until about 2 weeks later. An associate reached out and scheduled an initial phone screen interview, which I felt went smoothly. During the phone screen, I was told I would hear back within 48 hours— I was asked to schedule a second interview over Zoom the same day. Time slots to schedule the second interview were slim and all overlapped with a 9-5 schedule, so time off may be required to complete the interview process. Communication up until the second interview took place was okay, but despite my being aware of the hiring timeline/how quickly they needed the position filled, I received radio silence for 3 weeks until finally receiving a rejection, long after the interviewer said they needed the position to be filled. While I understand things aren’t always a good fit with a candidate, when a company is pushing to fill a position in a short time frame and gives the impression that a candidate may be a solid fit, the least that should be done is open and honest communication about any updates in hiring the process.
