      Fundraising Manager Interview

      May 8, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Teach for Canada in May 2019

      Interview

The interview took place on Zoom videoconferencing, and lasted around 25 minutes. There were 10 long-listed candidates – 5 (?) of whom were presumably invited for an in-person interview (though I was not selected). The interviewer had a set of four questions that focused on motivations for joining the organization, work culture fit, and a potential situation relevant to the position. Because the same questions seem to be given to every candidate, there were no questions specific to my resume. There were also no questions asked about previous experiences in a similar role or to give examples of how I was qualified for the position, as most interviews have. The interview was definitely primarily about personality and likability. Overall, the experience was fine. I appreciated that they were quick in getting back to me, and that they contacted all long-listed applicants not just those selected for a second interview. It wasn't a good fit for me, but if you are young and just out of undergrad I think it could be a fun place to work!
