      Senior QA Automation Engineer Interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Test Driven Solutions in Mar 2025

      Interview

Recruiter reached out me on LinkedIn. After short call I was invited to first part interview, it was more theoretical and we spoke about my experience. Next level was technical interview with logical task, live coding and few theoretical questions (1 hour). I passed this and was invited to last interview with CEO. I booked a time during my working day and was waiting on Google meet 15 minutes, during that messaged recruiter and she was trying to call CEO or other invited people. Some time after that one person joined call and said that I should wait some time because CEO is busy:) he joined at the end of planned call and proposed to make interview later same day. I answered that Im busy with my work till the end of the day. We agreed to postpone the interview to next week. Day before that their recruiter called me and asked that they already have a project for me and if I can cut my notice period from 1 month to 2 weeks (suggestion from her was to take a vacation for 2 weeks, even if I'm on B2B contract and I don't paid vacation, if I take day off, its unpaid. Could mention here, that on first call I described recruiter that my notice is 1 month. By the way, she gave advice to talk with management of we can cut notice. My mistake was that I trusted the recruiter's words and discussed with my management that I was leaving, asking for a shorter notice period. The cherry on top was that during the final call with the CEO, at the very end, he mentioned that the position was actually hybrid, because they were trying to build a certain culture in the Polish office. It’s important to note that throughout the entire process and in the job description shared by the recruiter on LinkedIn, it was clearly stated as fully remote. I won't even go deeper into the weird interview questions, like asking what music I listen to and writing something down after I answered. After that conversation, the CEO went on vacation, and a week later, the recruiter told me that I wasn't a cultural fit. When I pointed out the inconsistencies in the process and the fact that they revealed the hybrid setup only at the final stage, I got a vague reply saying it was not about what I thought and that I just didn't match their 'culture' in some other way. They added that they would keep in touch with me. In short, I strongly advise against wasting your time — time you could spend earning money, learning something new, or simply resting — on this unprofessional recruitment process. It's better to invest your time in yourself than to be misled by these scammers.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

There was a logic task about wrappers that could be exchanged for candies, with each wrapper having its own value. After solving the logic part, I was asked to write code to calculate the results and explain my coding solution
