I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at TestOut Corporation (Salt Lake City, UT) in Aug 2020
Interview
The interviewer spent the first 20 minutes getting his note taking software up so he could take notes, then in between each question, made me wait so he could type his notes.
His first question was "So you don't have experiance with React.js" and after 40 more minutes of interview told me that he couldn't hire me because he wanted someone more out of the box ready. He didn't have to drag the whole interview along if the answer to the first question was enough to disqualify me.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at TestOut Corporation (New York, NY)
Interview
First there was a interview with 1 person for an hour with an overview of the product , basic programming questions, and then a leetcode style question.
After that I interviewed with 2 more developers for another hour and was asked more questions pertaining mostly to React.js which I am very experienced with.
Then I was asked to do a take home project. Once I completed it I was asked to make a couple of changes to said project, maybe to see how well I do with new feature requests or something?
I then had another phone call discussing more about the job and what I would want if there was an offer.
After all of that I was offered less money than I was currently making while being told they don't really negotiate much on salary.
I've done a lot of interviews before and Testout had the most arduous process I've ever seen. I've interviewed at startups and fortune 500 companies and nothing was like this.
The interviewees were nice though.
