      Interview

Think twice before applying/interviewing; very rude owner My interview experience at Primeron, Odenton was awful. The facility is beautiful but the personality of the owner is disgusting and quite offensive. My interview was scheduled at 3:30 and I waited ~30 minutes until I noticed the receptionist whispering to the owner that I was waiting for the interview. Shortly after, the man printed out my resume and started the interview. He was rude and condescending and started my interview with “so what’s going on?” He then proceeded to ask me if I had questions before even initiating the interview. After that, he looked at my resume and inappropriately chuckled with a yellow smile on his face. He then went through the job description implying I did not meet his job requirements. With his same snarky disrespectful tone he asked me “what do you want to be when you grow up?” MY time completely wasted, and my application not taken seriously, although I met all the requirements listed on the job description. I recommend caution and thinking twice before applying or interviewing there unless you are willing to tolerate the condescending money hungry owner; this is an awful work environment.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback about the appearance of our early education center as we have put a lot of time and effort into making it inviting. We are sorry that we were not able to interview you promptly. As you well know, in this industry sometimes parents will drop in and ask for a tour of the facility and we apologize if we ran behind on this day. As a routine, we see candidates on time. With respect to your other comments, they are personal impressions and not what we strive to represent as a school. Additionally, interviews are done by the chief administrator. Lastly, we hire the highest quality teachers here at The Primeron- as evidenced by all the positive parent reviews we have received in the last four years.

      Interview

I applied online and within a few days they emailed to request an interview. I interviewed with a different person than who I thought I would be speaking with, which threw me off a little, but overall it wasn't bad. While I was there we also toured the facility and the interviewer asked me to email in my references after the interview. Ultimately I decided the position would not be a good fit for my family.

      Interview

I enjoyed my interview at the Primeron for the Assistant Director position. I liked the center and the security, I just did not see myself there or agree with the pay I would be receiving for having to do so much and wear multiple hats when things get crazy around the center. The base pay was extremely low for an Assistant Director position, and I was even getting offered the high-end. The money alone made it not worth it at all. I was even told there would be times where I'd have to close and open in the same day (6:15 AM-6:30 PM), all while on salary, so zero overtime. I just had a feeling I would be overworked and taken advantage of, so I had to decline to go further with pursuing the opportunity. The director was so nice and she made things very comfortable. I was also told that I would have to work a minimum of 5 hours in classrooms each week. I work at a center now and part of the reason I was interested in this position was to get OUT of the classroom, so this wasn't appealing to me either. I get sometimes you have to step in when needed, but to have a set minimum amount of hours you have to work in a classroom definitely made the job less attractive. Overall, it was a good interview and I enjoyed walking around the center, but did not see myself working there, especially for such low pay.
