I was contacted by and then interviewed with an individual from the company. A few weeks later I heard back from the same person, and I was told that my application was moving forward and I would be interviewing with two other people. The interview took place on Zoom and I immediately got the sense that one of the interviewers was not interested in what I had to say, while the other interviewer went on to say that they were impressed with my resume/background. After about 30 minutes, I was asked if I was willing to take a copy-editing test and I said yes. A few weeks later I heard back from an individual via a generic email that my application was not moving forward because I did not have the experience they were looking for. This was a bit odd considering that they liked my resume enough to have my application initially move forward. Also, I was never actually given the copy-editing test. If it was apparent that I was suddenly not a good fit from the second set of interviews, then don’t ask me if I am willing to take a test that you will never send my way. The whole experience was a complete waste of my time.
