I interviewed on 16th July in person after a online assessment on indeed with the HR manager. It was my 1st round and I think it went well. The HR was personable and easy going. I was told that they want to fill this role quickly as the current employee was leaving the org in couple of weeks. So we discussed my experience and other details and she confirmed me for 2nd round of interviews with the senior employees and scheduled it for next Tuesday. However I had a scheduling issue due to my baby, which I told them during my interview and she agreed to change it if need be. Later on they cancelled my 2nd interview and never got back. I followed up thrice and I got a reply that they are still trying to book based on everyone’s availability. However 2-3 weeks went by but still no email/phone call. I understand if they found a more suitable candidate given I lacked the experience in the role that I had applied for. But I would still prefer to get a rejection email than a no response at all. I think not responding to the candidate especially who has attended the in person interview is outright unprofessional and rude. I understand that it’s a start up and they have lot to learn. I don’t have any hard feelings except a little disappointment. I still wish them a good luck with their future endeavors. Here is the tip for the interviewees- Please let them know that you would like to hear back either way, so that they know you are expecting their response.
