My interviewer was very professional and kind. She was muh less focused on plants and their care and seemed more interested in sales, which was a huge ick for me. The Sill offers very low wages, especially for a city as expensive as New York.

Recruitment was conducted through their talent manager, who was very open and communicative. The first was an informational interview that outlined the role, and then an additional online application with questions regarding plant and retail experience. This was followed by a second interview with the individual shop manager. Most of the questions focused on situations and how one would respond to them. The overall experience was heavy on how you would fit into their company culture. After the two interviews they then asked for 3 references and actually contacted them! This was a bit of a surprise to me as they basically made my references have an 15 interview as well. This felt a little disproportionate given that this is an entry level shopkeeper role.
