      Graphic Designer Interview

      Dec 18, 2021
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at The Ten Spot in Sep 2021

      Interview

My interviewing process with this company has been absolutely terrible. They reached out to me at the end of September 2021 for a quick chat video for the position lasting about 20 minutes. A graphic design test followed which was very straight forward. After the 2nd interview, I was told I would get an update later that week or early next week. After not hearing from anyone, I emailed the person in charge the following week and was told they were still interviewing candidates and she would let me know "soon". At this point it has been 2 months. Another 3 weeks go by, nothing. I also emailed another employee higher up for my candidacy status but she also never replied. It is now end of December 2021 and I have gotten no response or update about my status. At this point, it’s looking like I’m not getting the job, which is a real bummer since a lot of time was put into it. Researching this company beforehand, I was a bit apprehensive to apply since the reviews I had seen on Glassdoor on the company have been largely negative. I can now see first hand why. Disappointment aside, there needs to be more transparency in the hiring process. Being transparent when recruiting lets potential candidates know you're honest, professional and that you care about their experience, regardless of whether or not you hire them. But for some reason, many companies continue to perpetuate oppression by leaving job seekers high and dry. Setting up an automated e-mail is a simple way to infuse the hiring process with more respect, clarity and humanity. Your interview team doesn't follow a structured interview process, which left me hunting down for answers myself. Better communication between the HR department and candidates needs to be implemented to clearly communicate the hiring timeline so that there can be a more positive experience, regardless if you get the job or not. There have also been some general inconsistencies with the actual start date ( I was told one date then it changed to another to now another) In my opinion, a company that allows a recruiting process to drag on for months with no explanation should be a red flag. A messy and disorganized recruiting process is likely indicative of larger problems. On that note, I am happy to say enough and move on.
