I recently went through the interview process for a remote position at The Weather Network/Pelmorex, and I want to share my experience and feedback on the process. Initially, I was excited about the opportunity because it was advertised as a fully remote position. However, during the final stage of the interview, I was informed by the hiring team that the candidate was expected to be in the office for several days per week, and particularly during extreme weather events such as snowstorms. This information completely contradicted what I was initially told by the recruiter and was not mentioned in the job description. This lack of transparency and communication left me extremely disappointed and frustrated with the interview process. I had invested a significant amount of time and effort into preparing for this role, only to find out later that a critical piece of information was not communicated to me earlier. In addition, I was asked to prepare a presentation and strategy during the interview process. I believe that Pelmorex is using ideas from candidates as free labor. It's unethical and unfair, and I'm disappointed that the company did not have the decency to provide feedback for my ideas. Overall, my experience with The Weather Network/Pelmorex was very negative, and I would like to warn others about the company's misleading and unethical recruitment practices. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
