I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at The Y (YMCA) in Apr 2011
Interview
Interview was extremely informal. The entire process was basically just a formality. Once the interviewer checked to make sure I had all of my necessary certifications (such as CPR, AED, First Aid, Lifeguarding, and Emergency Administration of Oxygen), the conversation was about what my hours would be and what my availability would be during the summer and school year.
Smooth and welcoming. The interaction was positive and conversation flowed nicely throughout. I felt like my answers were being listened to, and that the interviewers were very engaged with me and what I had to say.

Question 1
What my background was and how it would fit into this role
very good. good people there who work there and i like to work there because it is very fun being outside and talking with good people and free popsicles and the interviewer was nice and respectful and all oof that.
The interview process was overall easy. You just need to have your certifications, you need to pass a breathing test, and you need to pass a swim test. Pretty easy interview.
