      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at TikTok (Detroit, MI) in Oct 2021

      Interview

Honestly, this entire process was a complete waste of my time and beyond unprofessional. Initially, I had a phone interview with the recruiter in October, that went extremely well. After that, I heard back rather quickly and was passed on to another day of interviews with two separate people for the following week. The interview itself was enjoyable and they seemed kind. Those both also went very well. I heard back within the week and was passed off to a fourth interview...again, went very well and I was told by the recruiter that I would receive an update within the week. I waited a week and heard nothing, so I followed up. I was then told that I would hear back within two weeks. Hmmm, seemed like kind of a long stretch but I really felt good about the process and decided to stay patient. Two weeks go by, still no update. I follow up AGAIN. The recruiter takes a week to answer me, and responds with no update, just more excuses . I began to feel disrespected in the sense that I gave them many days and hours worth of my time to proceed through multiple interviews, and they were continuing to drag out the decision process for much longer than they originally had expressed. Mind you, I had a full time job and had to really work around my meetings and schedule during the day to accommodate their extensive interview process. For anyone who has a full time job in the advertising industry, you know this is not always easy. Still nothing nearly a month later (after my final interview) when I receive a virtual Christmas card from them thanking me for my interest and expressing an excitement for the new year. Okay....? Thank you but could you please tell me if I got the job and stop dragging me along? I found that strange and kind of inappropriate. Finally, mid January, TWO MONTHS after my final interview, I follow up once more after receiving no updates and was a little more assertive in my approach. At which point they responded and said they didn’t have the new year numbers in line yet, so they didn’t know how many positions were needed and didn’t want to “hold up my job search”. Haven’t you already held it up enough requiring multiple interviews and dragging it on for a total of three months?! Beyond unprofessional, very disrespectful to my time, and extremely annoying, frustrating, and irritating. If that experience was any indication of how the company as a whole is ran, I literally want no part of it anyways. So happy it didn’t work out.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at TikTok (Ho Chi Minh City) in Apr 2026

      Interview

The interview process consisted of five stages: Talent Acquisition, Hiring Manager, Manager +1, Manager +2, and HRBP. Overall, the process was well-organized and seamless, with clear communication and timely scheduling between each round. Every interviewer was professional and provided a positive candidate experience throughout the process. However, after the final interview, I did not receive any updates despite following up. It was only after my second direct follow-up that I finally received a response regarding the outcome.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at TikTok in Apr 2026

      Interview

The process spanned almost 3 months - the recruiting team is terrible at scheduling things fast enough. They try to get a million people in these interviews, which makes it super difficult to get something in the books fast enough. My interview was rescheduled like 3-4x. The case study also doesn’t make sense - it is unnecessarily too long.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at TikTok (Stockholm, Stockholm) in Feb 2026

      Interview

Recruiter screen → Hiring manager → Case + deck creation → Panel interview → Offer stage The interview rounds were structured and professional. The case assignment was clear, and the panel interview went smoothly, although a scheduled grandparent interviewer did not attend and there was no separate grandparent interview afterward. The experience changed at the offer stage. The level proposed did not match the scope discussed throughout the interviews, and the compensation presented was significantly below market for the responsibilities outlined. Requests for clarity on leveling criteria, compensation philosophy, and internal benchmarks were met with vague answers, making it difficult to understand how the offer was determined. The team seemed alright, but the lack of transparency and the large gap between role expectations and the final offer raised concerns about internal alignment. I ultimately declined.
