I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at TikTok (Los Angeles, CA) in Sep 2023
Interview
I had 2 interviews with 2 recruiters. One in Mandarin and one in English. The one who spoke Mandarin told me that Mandarin was a requirement for the job. The one who spoke in English told me it wasn’t.
The interview in Mandarin was very easy and the interview in English was also easy, but the recruiter had more technical recruitment questions. All in all, it was an okay experience. I felt like both could’ve been more enthusiastic though. They were definitely going through the motions..

Through third party agency.
Interview was straightforward, 3-4 rounds, first is prescreen asking basic HR questions and salary expectations.
Last round is usually XFN or another manager from the same team.
They tend to drill down on KPIs/targets.
The interview process was straightforward and enjoyable. It consisted entirely of behavioral questions, with not too many rounds. I collaborated with a contractor agency, and the entire experience was seamless and efficient.
