The week after my application, I received a phone call to arrange a Skype interview for the following day. This was a fairly relaxed 10-15 min discussion of the role and my previous work experience. The next day I was sent an email invite to the 'Assessment & Training Day' at their HQ in Clapham. Be prepared for a long day! I arrived at 9am and it was past 7pm when I left... First thing to say though, the staff are lovely and it was a really relaxed, informal and fun atmosphere - this may well depend on the group, but I actually enjoyed the day. You will be sat down for quite a long time, so numb bum will occur at some stage. There were around 20 candidates and we sat in a small room with a laptop projecting on to the wall in front of us. Coffee, tea, fruit juices and biscuits were made available throughout. We were told about the company, the various charities they work on behalf of, and shown some promotional vids on each charity. During the course of the day, we took to the streets for a 10 minute exercise in approaching and engaging with the public, asking them to help with a survey which took about 20 secs each time, and back at HQ we developed our 'dialogue' for a one-on-one role-play in front of the group. We later expanded on this for the second and final role-play at the end of the day.
