After an initial screening interview I was asked to prepare a an answer to a technical problem. I spent considerable time on my answer and then was told at the start of the interview this would only constitute about 15 minutes of the interview – this would have been nice to know beforehand as I wouldn't have prepared such a detailed answer.
After flying through that I was then asked about my experience with ML techniques I have never used or claimed to have used on my CV or in the screening interview. The feedback I received was that I did not have enough experience with these so my application would not be progressed.
This could have been identified at an earlier stage to avoid wasting everyone's time. Clearly IMS do not value the time of candidates very highly. I would advise them to take more time training their hiring managers to avoid wasting candidates time and damaging their reputation.
