      'Amazing Events Opportunities' Interview

      Oct 6, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Manchester, England
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at UKFast (Manchester, England) in Oct 2015

      Interview

I had an interview at UKFast this week and wanted to add my thoughts to the feedback given so far because, when doing my research beforehand, a couple of the reviews almost made me pause despite all the other positive feedback out there. I saw the job initially on the Prolific North website and then took the aptitude/psychometric test. I received a call the very next day from the UKFast team which I missed but I really appreciated the speedy response. After connecting with the team and a short phone interview I was put on a group interview a week later (today). Despite the experience of a previous poster, today the day ran 9am-1pm precisely and there was fruit, biscuits and water on offer to keep you going. It was a group of maybe 25 people applying for a range of different jobs making it feel less like you were directly competing one another. The day started with Managing Director Jonathan Bowers introducing the day and Ukfast. There was then the short video that they send to you in the email whilst you thought of some things to say about yourself. I don't give too much away as I think part of the fun was seeing what people came with when put on the spot. There was then a Q&A session that felt honest and open. We were then divided into four groups. Two groups went to do their aptitude and psychometric tests whilst the other two groups were put in separate rooms. In our groups we were given two challenges using negotiation. Although I couldn't tell you if my reaction was viewed as good or bad I can tell you that I just had a lot of fun with my group and it just felt like a game with a nice competitive edge. The aptitude/psychometric test was fine. No calculators allowed, done on the computer, and they give you some working out paper. This was then followed up by a ten minute interview. As I didn't get asked back for a second interview I'm not sure if 'I sold myself' enough, but I can tell you that UKfast definitely sold itself to me. The rooms we saw looked great, the ethos of the company was everything you'd want to hear when looking for a new place to build a career and to top it all off, the staff were just absolutely lovely and looked happy. All in all it was a good experience. If you're thinking about applying I'd definitely say go for it.
