      Section Editor Interview

      Sep 8, 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Tucson, AZ
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at USA TODAY Co. (Tucson, AZ) in Mar 2011

      Interview

Very professional, not too long but long enough. There is mandatory drug testing before you can be officially hired, and you must agree to Gannett policies on news reporting. Expect to meet with employees of all levels, reporters to publisher and they want you to ask them questions- not only the other way around. This takes many applicants by surprise, so be ready.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

My thoughts on declines in newspaper business; ideas for change that would sustain and grow the product; thoughts on reader demographics; what I bring to the table.
