I applied on Linkedin, the HR recruiter contacted me very quickly for a face to face interview in the office. Once I got to the office, which was a bit old and run down, I waited for 20 minutes before my interview! If I have an interview at 3:00pm I expect it to be at 3:00pm. I can see waiting a few minutes, but 20 minutes is unacceptable. When the candidate before me was finished I started my interview. After abut 20 minutes it was over, and I was invited to come back for a second round interview. The second round interview would be me watching some kind of presentation, which they did not thoroughly explain well. So anyway, I was expecting to come back for the second round interview the following, but the HR recruiter left a voicemail saying I have to reschedule. So I called back twice, nothing in return. Then I emailed her, then she said they had chosen someone for the position Monday so they are not doing any more interviews. Like, what kinda crap is that? I feel like it was a waste of my time, very unprofessional.

This company has so much to offer its employees as far as their potential professional career is concerned! My interview process was very professional. I did not have to interview in a group setting, but yes there is a waiting area with other people waiting to be interviewed, which is typical. My interview process was clear and all was laid out before me that I would be doing and all that I could accomplish. I enjoyed my interactions with CEO, Meg, she was honest and upfront about what Vanguard does and could offer me for a career. I did accept a position here and have enjoyed growing and learning with this company.

After submitting a resume via LinkedIn, I got a call from the HR Assistant. Typically, these screening calls are scheduled in advance, so this was a red flag. After passing the phone interview, I was invited to come in for an in-person interview with the HR Manager. After reading through the reviews on this site, I discovered more red flags. It quickly became apparent, that this was not in fact an interview for a promotions assistant/events coordinator, rather, it was an interview for a minimum wage 7-10 days/week sales job at Sam's Club. I opted to cancel the interview since the description was misleading.

The Interview process was very fast, and done in three parts. I think they were very honest with what to expect. I didn't leave with any questions because they answered them all very candidly. The bottom line is you will be trying to sell merchandise at big box stores to receive a commission on top of your hourly pay. The company is small, and the enthusiasm from Meg and Melaniein regards to possible growth and career advancement was reassuring. I hope to be able to be promoted in the company, but before that ever happens you have to do grunt work and make them money.

I applied online, thinking this was a legitimate company. When I received an email minutes later to schedule my interview for later that day I got a really bad vibe of what kind of job this really was. I asked for a clear job description and they would not send me one but kept pushing to get me on the phone. The place is a scam. I thought I was applying for an events job but it was a glorified sales job, in what seemed to be a pyramid scheme. The jobs they post are in no way true to what you'll actually be doing. Do yourself a favor and keep moving!

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Vanguard Events (Raleigh, NC) in Jun 2016
I originally received phone call about position but was told because of my desire to relocate, they would contact me within the next 3-4 weeks if the position was still available. They did contact me for interview about a month later. I had read the reviews and was very hesitant coming in and they could see that in my demeanor. I was told I was going to hear within the same day by 5 pm whether or not I was called for second interview. I received call the next day in mid-afternoon and accepted second interview. I received email with information on where to meet for an "event." I called office the morning of the second interview to cancel because of my hesitations. I still received phone call with girl I was supposed to meet with for the second interview confirming. I said I had called office and cancelled. There was some miscommunication there because she was not informed of this. Overall, the experience is exactly as described in the other reviews.

Quick. Job title is very misleading. Applied on their website, received a phone call the next day from the recruiter. Interview to be set for the following day. After the initial phone call and doing research online it became clear that the position was less about event planning and more about handing out samples at Costco. I declined the in-person interview. But was told the next step in the interview process would be to attend an "event." Which would have been meeting a current employee at Costco.

The first interview round was a 1 on 1 with the hiring manager. I found her to be very personable and we had a good "get to know you" session. I had a slightly weird first impression in that there was no one was interviewees in their location. I did appreciate that I found out about the second round same day. The second day I met with an employee at an "event". This was really just them selling product at a Sam's Club. I felt the description was misleading from what the actual position was. I was informed pay is performance based. If the position is not sales based I did not understand how else they measured performance to determine pay. Overall I felt no benefits, low pay, and pushing products in a Sams Club was not something that would fit me at this time.

I didn't finish the interview process because thankfully I read reviews like the ones on here & realized the company is a pyramid scheme. I would caution anyone considering working here. First, the job description was deceptive. It said I'd be planning events and helping manage product campaigns. In reality, I'd be in Costco or Sam's Club pushing products on people. Second, the interview process is incredibly manipulative! Thanks to my degree in Psychology, I noticed the tactics they used to get you more interested than you really are in the position. Things like telling you how few people even get the 1st interview and then calling you barely before the deadline they tell you. I was told I'd know by 5 PM the day of my first "interview" (a 15-minute encounter with the owner, who never actually identified herself as the owner - I found that on LinkedIn). I got a call at 4:55, which made me anxious and really hope I got the call for the 2nd round since I waited almost until the deadline. They also force you to make rushed decisions by making you come to interviews a day or 2 after they call. My second "interview" was the very next day. By forcing you to make quick decisions & making it seem like a limited offer you could miss, it makes you think the job is more valuable. It's also very obvious their entire speeches in the "interviews" are scripted. The company is structured the same way as things like Mary Kay & essential oils, only they have an office kind of. I'd caution anyone considering working here.
