I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Vantage Japan
Interview
Pretty standard. I emailed them about a job opening and got a response a couple days later. We set up a time for a Skype interview (I was living outside of Japan at that time) and then did it.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They will ask you to prepare a short demo lesson that you would use with some kids. They will give you some example words to teach and they want to see what you come up with.

Interview
After initially expressing my interest on a job portal they emailed me back asking for my availability for an interview. After 2 interviews spaced around a month apart I was offered a position at the company.

Interview
Ok I just wrote a really long review but glass door crashed and didn't post it... So basically, I applied on GaijinPot, got an email asking for more info, and then set up a Skype interview. They ask you to prepare a demo lesson for interview, including flash cards, a song (you have to sing at least one verse) and a game. Keep in mind this game must be feasibly playable with 30 young children, so don't make it too challenging or complicated. The interview lasted an hour and was only one of at least two, though I haven't heard back from them yet so I don't know if I even passed the first one. They will ask you personal questions as well as general one about the job and moving to Japan. Be prepared to be asked a LOT of detailed questions. In the end I decided to go with a different company anyways (even though Vantage has not gotten back to me at all) Vantage seems very small and I think they don't have the resources to really pay you as much as one of the competing companies. Unfortunately this position seems like it would be very high stress with mediocre pay that you could make doing any Eikaiwa job.
