A couple of days after I applied online, I received a call requesting I attend an interview that week. I attended the interview and it was very pleasant due to the friendliness of the woman interviewing me. She asked if I could do a two hour trial shift that weekend and I accepted. It wasn't until I arrived that I realised that the woman interviewing me was actually from head office, and didn't work at the restaurant. The real manager had poor English and was extremely patronising. You could tell she was putting on an act and trying to be nice so I'd accept the job if offered it. I noticed that all the other employees seemed unhappy and she'd yell at them when she thought I wasn't looking. After I finished the trial shift, she said she'd call me the next day to let me know if I'd got the job or not. Four days passed and I received no such phone call, so I took the initiative to call them myself. The manager told me they'd chosen someone else but had the audacity to lie and say that she couldn't call me because she "lost my number". This was extremely rude and unprofessional considering I gave up my time to attend the trial shift to only receive no phone call. After reading all the reviews on here, I feel like I've dodged a bullet. Clearly the woman from head office was only there to help after a load of employees had quit, probably due to the manager's abuse and the late and incorrect pay.
