Assessment Day:
- Come in for 9:45
- 10am start
Quick Fun Exercise:
- Venatrix employee will describe 3 famous people based on traits such as self belief, motivation etc.
"This person has a lot of confidence and loves trash talking too, always will be remembered as one of the greatest" .... Answer = Boxing Legend (You can probably work out who it is)
- They will ask the group, why sales? and why tech sales? (Fast paced, resilience, building rapport with clients, booming industry etc)
- In front of the group (15 people) - Name, Uni, Degree, Graduate year and interesting fact about yourself
** Group Exercise 1: Room 101 (10mins)
In your group you come up with something you want to banish! (Eg - Kardashians, Trump, Long queues, rush hour etc) and back it up with several reason to why it should be banished
The opposing group will contest and look for reasons to keep the banish for specific reasons.
** Group Exercise 2: Sales Pitch (20mins)
You come up with a sales pitch for a scenario, and come up with 8 questions to ask a potential customer to gather information for customer needs. You then use the gathered information and make a sales pitch in front of the Venatrix panel.
In both exercises, be involved, high energy, motivated, come up with some good ideas ... they are looking out for people who stand out from the crowd and can lead a group. (Do not shout or be over dominant - very unprofessional)
After this is all done, Venatrix panel will take a 10min break to shortlist people to the next stage. On this occasion 6 people went.
** Lunch takes place soon after - ideal time to network with others**
After lunch, one to one interviews will take place where 3 people get chosen for the final job.
All in all, it is a relatively fun day with experience taken on board. However points to mention which can be improved on:
- The group was not ethnically diverse at all, 95% white
- The main recruiter was some what more engaged with certain individuals in the group, and others she had a look of utter boredom while they spoke...seemed very biased and almost as if they knew who they wanted to progress and who they couldn't care less about, this was very evident from the start.
- If you get a last minute call from one of their recruiters out of the blue regarding an assessment day, you are simply there to make up the numbers.
