I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Verily (Mountain View, CA) in Aug 2016
Interview
Nightmare starts as soon as I was passed from Google proper to Verily.
1) I got invited to onsite. "Please wait 48hrs for confirmation", didn't get any emails (even after badgering) until the day before I was supposed to fly out. They then told me they're very busy and rescheduled my interview to later.
2) On site was pretty good, except after the interview was over nobody directed me where to go. The last interviewer gave me something along the lines of "you can go home now, I guess?".
3) My point of contact told me she will call me by the end of the week to give me an update, and then another call by the end of the following week on the decision of hiring committee. I never got the first call, sent out a few emails but ignored. Didn't hear anything the following week, sent out a few emails asking what's going on, ignored again. On the THIRD week, I emailed the original Google proper HR and they were finally able to hassle my point of contact in giving me some kind of update.
This kind of experience is unacceptable. I don't know if it happens because they get so many applicants, or maybe they're understaffed, but I don't really care. I've applied to many large companies in the valley, and not at a single place was the interview process a complete disaster as it was at Verily.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They're basically same as standard Google interview. Prepare for those.
The interview process was straightforward. After the initial talk with the recruiter. I was scheduled for an interview the following week. The interview was to solve a linked list leetcode style problem. After that interview, I was scheduled for a power day where I had to do 4 coding leetcode style interviews. Some of the topics were DFS, one problem resembled the leetcode problem about container with the most water. And 2 of them were problems that was vaguely stated and I haven’t seen before. And the last interview was a team
Fit/ behavioral
I applied online. I interviewed at Verily (San Francisco, CA) in May 2026
Interview
I went through multiple rounds of the interview process including 5 interviews in person at the office for 4 hours. Everything went well and I was able to solve everything with plenty of left over time. Seems like they aren't even looking for someone for this position and are just doing it for statistics. This position has been open for over 3 months which is impossible for the bay area. After all I waited 3 weeks to get this response.

Question 1
4 leetcode easy/mediums were asked. Each was 45 minutes long
Froze up during the technical interview over something small. Interviewer just silently watched. There was not any room for engagement in asking questions. Completely on me tho, I blanked on basic Java.
