Initially, my interaction with the recruitment team was very positive. The recruiter was approachable, responsive, and efficiently organized the interviews, which I greatly appreciated.
During my first 90-minute interview, I had the opportunity to engage with two senior engineers, the Principal Engineer and the Head Tech Lead. The experience was pleasant and professional. They inquired about my approach to full-stack design and cloud environment structuring, followed by a brief 15-minute coding test.
Subsequently, I completed a technical assessment within three days. The HR team was prompt in their follow-up, arranging a second interview shortly after.
In this second interview, I encountered a challenging dynamic. While one of the senior engineers was focused on understanding the rationale behind my assessment and my knowledge of AWS cloud services, another interviewer, Eddie, exhibited a demeanor that I found to be unprofessional and disengaging. His approach felt confrontational, and at times, it appeared as though he was not fully attentive to my responses. Additionally, his comments suggested a preconceived notion about my capabilities, which was discouraging and disrepectful.
I value constructive feedback and rigorous technical evaluation, but I believe the interview process should also be a platform for respectful and fair assessment of a candidate's abilities. In light of this experience, I would appreciate any insights or feedback regarding my performance and the interview process as a whole. My goal is to understand how I can improve and ensure a positive experience in future interactions.
