+ Recruiter reached on LinkedIn + HR screening + Coding assignment (very lengthy and not worth) + Technical review + pair programming + Decision After thoroughly going through my resume and understanding my background they ask to do a coding assignment. This is quite complex and needs more than couple of hours. It looks like their existing feature which needs to be implemented from scratch. Then comes the feedback, which is positive but the engineer asks for hypothetical scenario which is never discussed in the assignment description. Then goes onto work with three questions and one tricky questions which is expected by the candidate to be solved. Everything is positive and then they reject with "needs more experience in Node.js" which they didn't see when the complex coding assignment was given. No questions related to Node were asked in the technical interview, but unable to solve the tricky question led to rejection.
