      Product Designer Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at VitVio

      Interview

I went through three stages of the interview process. Some of the questions felt quite basic or a bit impersonal, such as rating yourself from 1 to 10 or being asked how previous colleagues would describe you. I did appreciate the whiteboard challenge, though as a designer, it was a great way to demonstrate thinking and problem-solving in real time. Overall, I invested a lot of time and effort into the process. I believe a good practice, especially after later interview stages, is to provide candidates with feedback. Unfortunately, after completing the final stage, I didn’t receive any follow-up or response, which was disappointing.

Thanks for sharing your feedback. We are thorough in our process as finding a great fit for our team is crucial to us. When we move forward with someone, it means we strongly believe they are the perfect match for the role. This also means we have to say no to some great candidates along the way. Regarding the questions, they help us balance technical review with self-reflection - we're glad to hear you enjoyed the whiteboard challenge! We definitely agree that personal feedback is a great practice and we would want to be able to share it with every candidate. As a fast-moving startup, we're still working on how to balance that with the high volume of applications we get. Please note that whilst we don't share feedback with many candidates by default, we will always share thorough feedback when requested. Speaking of feedback - we really do appreciate yours on what we could improve down the line!
