      Civil Engineer Interview

      May 27, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      West Palm Beach, FL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

The process took 2 days. I interviewed at WGI (West Palm Beach, FL)

      Interview

Very disappointed. Had 2 interviews, which were about 3 hours each. They mentioned that they will give me an offer with a salary, but they never kept their word. I tried contacting the management several times after the interview with no response, when they said that we will keep in touch and that we will discuss salary. I was tested on school concepts that I had not dealt with in years. In my opinion, people should not given an offer based off what they know, especially an entry level, but more of their ability to learn, because growing in the workforce is about constantly learning. Very unprofessional to use days of my time and not even discuss salary, when they said that we will discuss salary. I was disappointed and lost interest.

I apologize that our team was apparently not responsive when you reached out. If you call our headquarters, and ask for an HR professional, I assure you that your call will be answered or returned. Unfortunately, WGI is not for all candidates and as you mentioned below, our hiring process is diligent. As you also noted and depending on position, this includes an evaluation of your skills, and also our opinion of your ability to learn in a fast-paced growth environment and most importantly, a cultural fit. The market for entry-level engineers remains highly competitive and many of our roles are filled with candidates that have interned with WGI for one of more summers. We wish you the utmost success in your career as a civil engineer – it’s a great time to enter our profession.
