Before interview selected candidates must past DMV record and Spanish written test. Interview type was panel interview. Members of the panel were supervisors and personel from the same division. Although the job posting seemed to look for someone with transferable skills, the interview was mostly behavioral questions specific to the job posting. Most of the questions required more in depth information, like one of them was how would you communicate people, business about the program? well this depends first of identifying your target audience, then their communication or information needs (eg. it is not same to reach out to someone who does not have email versus someone who prefers emails, social media for communication!) In that regard, Washigton County should make sure posting is either more specific or questions during interview are less technical! I think HR department and specific division need to coordinate better.
