      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Wave in Jan 2025

      Interview

I was approached by a recruiter on LinkedIn, had a screening call and was given a take home task. I completed the take home task 100% going by their rubric but got a rejection email a few days later. Waste of time.

      Site Reliability Engineer Interview

      Feb 26, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Wave

      Interview

      1. Call with a recruiter The initial call with the recruiter was good. They told me they will send next steps same day or latest the day after. Didn't hear anything for over a week. They claimed that the emails from their recruiting tool were blocked by outlook.com? 2. Take home exercise Two weeks after initial call I finally got the take home exercise. It was very well prepared and interesting to solve. Took me 2.5hrs. 3. 2hrs technical interview Again, I don't hear anything for over a week. They decide to move on and I schedule a 2hrs block for two interviews. After that it's waiting time again. Only after directly sending an email to the hiring manager I get an answer that they will decide "this friday or monday". On Monday, a week after the interviews, I get a rejection. It's a canned response with no feedback. They state if you want feedback they will provide some but I'm still waiting. Dear Wave: Even though you have a great product you can still treat the candidates with some respect. Get back to the candidates quickly and provide feedback. You are not the only one investing a lot of time in interview processes.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      * Deploy rate limiter to k8s, adapt Flask app to use it * Discuss failure modes of a service * Describe a project and your role in it
