      Marketing Manager Interview

      Sep 8, 2025
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Wonderbrands

      Interview

Lengthy Process, No Feedback. I interviewed for the Digital Marketing Manager position and, based on my background, felt I was a strong fit with extensive experience in the space. The process was long and demanding, spanning several weeks. It included an initial HR screening, 2 quiz assessments, a round with the hiring manager, and finally an in-person presentation and case studies with two managers. While the scheduling itself was smooth, the overall process felt unnecessarily heavy for the role. After the final stage, communication went silent for a week. Eventually, I was informed of a rejection, with no feedback or explanation provided even after asking for it. For a process that asked so much from a candidate, the lack of even a brief feedback or reasons why was disappointing. Advice to Management: If you’re going to require multiple rounds and assessments, please respect candidates’ investment of time by offering constructive feedback. It would greatly improve the candidate experience and reflect more positively on the company’s culture.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Wonderbrands (Etobicoke, ON) in Aug 2023

      Interview

The interview process consists of three rounds spanning over a period of 5 weeks. Round 1: During the initial round, I had an interview with the HR department. They asked traditional screening questions, provided a comprehensive overview of the business, and offered the opportunity to ask questions. The HR team was friendly and took the time to explain the opportunity thoroughly. Round 2: In the second stage, I was asked to complete an online personality test, which is not overly time-consuming. Round 3: Included an interview with the head of the HR department and the head of my potential department. This round focused on HR-related and intermediate position-specific questions. Additionally, they emphasized that the role is more aligned with sales management rather than traditional marketing management, which suited my background in both sales and Global CPG Brand Management. Outcome: After the extensive interview process, I received notification that I had not been selected for the position. It's worth mentioning that the approved salary range was lower than my expectations. Cons: One aspect that I found that sucked was the requirement for candidates to attend the fourth stage interview in person. Given the rate at which companies don't fill the role, the convenience and cost-effectiveness of virtual interviews make this requirement seem outdated and inconvenient. Overall, while the interview process was thorough and the HR team was supportive, the lower-than-expected salary offer and the insistence on in-person interviews might deter some candidates. Also, no guarantee the role will be filled.
