I had a very positive experience in my interview in regards to interacting with the team members. What I can tell you is that there were two parts to my interview.
The first part was just talking and listening to the assistant unit manager. I introduced myself, gave a bit of information of my previous work history and what skills I could bring to the team. We then discussed some things about Wowburger and Press Up Hospitality group.
The second part was more practical. I stepped into the kitchen and was shown how to make several products and eventually had the opportunity help a team member handle an order.
Although I have not been offered the anything yet. I would like to pass on some tips that may help potential candidates succeed or at least do better than I did.
Tip 1: Be genuinely interested. This came naturally to me because I love their products so I did everything I could to prepare before hand. I brought a copy of my CV to the interview, I did research on Wowburger's company history and philosophy, I did some research on their partner Press Up Hospitality group and I asked questions about the team and the workplace.
Tip 2: Show Initiative. This was something I wish I did better on. On the trial order I did only what I thought was asked of me. I wish I could've thought of more ways I could've actually helped complete the order but in the end I was told what's most important is just getting the order to the customer.
Tip 3: Ask a lot of questions and try to avoid asking stupid ones. I asked a lot of questions to genuinely try to understand how things worked in the kitchen but I also ended some stupid ones which I wish I could've avoided or worded better to get a better answer.
Overall, I had a great experience and I hope that you, the next candidate do too!
