      Frontend Developer Interview

      Dec 29, 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at YouNoodle.com in Sep 2022

      Interview

First of all I want to start by saying: I do not recommend this company. The interview process was long, stressful, disorganized, without clear instructions on the first technical task and overall a total mess. I will detail each step according to the dates when they happened. September 27 2022 - Application I applied for the job. October 5 2022 - Company gives first answer I received an invitation for a virtual meeting for October 7 2022 October 7 2022 - First virtual meeting. Here I got into a virtual meeting with three of the employees of the company. Two developers, and the CTO. They asked me about my professional experience. Aside from that, they asked me some technical questions about the web. When the interview was finished, I asked for an overview of the rest of the process and they told me that it consisted of two technical tests and one final interview with the CEO. I also asked about when I could hear for the next step and they told me that I should wait for news next week. October 17 2022 - I reached out to the company On the week from 9 to 15 of October I only received one email from the company, from the CTO to be exact, that I should hear from them that week with the next steps. I didn't hear a thing. So I decided to reach out and on October 17 2022 I sent an email as a follow up, asking if there was any news about my process. On October 20 2022, without an answer to my previous email, I received the technical challenge. October 24 to 31 2022 - Technical challenge and followup So I received a Technical Challenge that was a mixture of Frontend with Backend stuff. Even though I was applying for a Frontend developer position. One day after I had already started working on it, one of the developers of the company sent me a "correction email" on the technical challenge, adding stuff to it, changing instructions and "clarifying points of confusion". These new points weren't considered in the technical challenge that I was sent. On October 26 I submitted my test and it was until October 28 that I received a response that they wanted to move forward with another interview. The date of the next interview was changed one time. November 4 2022 - Review and interview of Technical Challenge It was an interview where they asked me about the project, and to explain to the CTO what the project consisted of and how it worked. November 9 - Second Technical Interview This interview consisted of a live pair programming exercise. November 15 to 26 2022 - Final interviews After the second technical interview, I hadn't received any news so on November 15 I sent an email and they answered me with a schedule for an interview with the CTO and CEO of the company for November 22 2022. This interview was about my interest in joining the company and if I would be a good fit for it. They also asked me what my salary expectation was. On November 28 2022 another interview happened, they told me that they would extend an offer to me, but the salary was way below what I had asked. So, I requested some time to make my decision. December 5 to 6 2022 - Counter offer and answers I decided to write a counter offer. They weren’t open to it and closed that door immediately. Their reason: Their wide salary range helped them hire people in all levels, and that I had landed on a low end spectrum. That in fact was not true. I passed 95% of the tests that were given. December 7 to 16 2022 I accepted the counter offer. Received an NDA. Took about three working days to review it and write some questions. The person that sent me the NDA said that if I had questions, that I could make them. I sent the company my questions and after a few days I received an answer from the CEO that the language of the NDA couldn't be changed (a thing that I didn’t ask for) and that it was better to part ways. They retire the offer out of the blue and that was the last I heard from them. As you can see, they didn't respect my time, they were disorganized, and they were very rude with me. The first moment I take some time to review and ask some questions, they throw a potential good relationship. This clearly shows that this company is all over the place, and doesn't know what it is doing in terms of hiring people. Also they are not empathetic and do not respect the times of others. Do not apply to this company.
