Phone interview. Spent a lot of time talking about nothing in particular with a yuma employee. She was nice but said some weird stuff and there were some awkward silences. Not technical, which is OK but somewhat bizarre questions were asked. Got a bad vibe about this company checking out their website and online presence, which was reaffirmed by the interview. The website is crazy in design, not even https, looks like a site I would make to land an exploit. Mom and pop is fine, amateur hour is not. Found out the position involves being capable of being a high level network admin who will also end up doing random general support so you're called a tech and offered a low compensation package and driving your own car to clients with mileage compensated. The person interviewing me was definitely annoyed when I questioned the compensation and actual structure of the job. She also seemed annoyed when I asked about training and shadowing other techs. "All of our techs are useful on day one". Sure, we have general tech skills but we need to know the companies preferred methods and general things like net topology, credentials and authorization policies for existing clients. Got a clown circus vibe in general but if you are a new tech and really focused on getting certs it might be a good place to get some skills.
