I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at ZMP(Japan)
Interview
Interviewed in 2017 while I was at my last year of PhD studies (Deep Learning focus, with multiple papers published).
Ended up not getting an offer as they perceived my lack of work experience as insufficient, and sent a lowball unofficial offer (~4M, much lower than the advertised range) that I declined.
Ended up getting much better offers (7M+) a few months later from different companies so I think I made a good decision to decline.

Question 1
Generally just talked about experience and some random basic C++ questions over the phone.
Pretty simple question & answering, I was just giving answers to various questions, without a deep discussion in any topic.
Didn't really get any questions about DL, that part was just judged based on my (lack of) work experience in the field.

Interview
Skype interview. Bad experience. Non polite. They were not asking things about the job or related and then complained that I didn't answer peoperly to what they were asking for.
