I recently went through an extensive interview process with Zachry, and while the conversations with the hiring team were positive, the overall experience exposed serious organizational issues.
After three successful interview rounds (HR, hiring manager, and VP), I was invited to an on-site interview at their headquarters, which required a three-hour drive each way. The interview itself was rigorous—five panels, each with two interviewers, from 9 AM to 3 PM. Surprisingly, there was no lunch break or meal provided, which was unexpected for such a long day. The company admin had initially promised reimbursement, but after multiple follow-ups, I was told, after about two weeks, that they only cover the hotel (which they had pre-paid) and nothing else. This was never communicated in advance.
For context, I only expensed gas and two meals (dinner the night before interview and late lunch the day of interview), yet they refused to reimburse it. Given that the role I interviewed for was focused on setting up financial processes for strategic decision-making, it’s clear they desperately need it! The way they handled candidate logistics speaks volumes about their lack of planning and care for people. They promote themselves as a "family company" that values employees, but based on my experience, their actions don’t reflect that claim.
Looking back, I’m not surprised they’re facing financial struggles—disorganization at this level usually points to deeper operational issues. If you're considering interviewing here, be prepared for a frustrating process and unclear policies.
