Interviews for Top Jobs at Zealous United

There are three rounds of interviews. The first round didn’t last very long—they asked me a few questions and then I learned some more about the company. The second round I got to go see what they did from the ground level, really got to understand more about why they’re so effective in product promotions—and it IS promotions, not sales, by the way. The third round I got asked a few more questions, some more information about the company was given more in an in-depth capacity, and then later I got offered the job.
- How much ROI does marketing generate?

I interviewed at Zealous United
The first interview lasted maybe 10 minutes, just basic questions like 'tell me about your leadership skills'. I was offered a 2nd interview, which was at Sam's Club in IA. They are the people that try and get you to buy stuff at Sam's. It has nothing to do with advertising like the job said. They say it isn't sales because they are just promoting the product. But they work with 'performance bonuses'. They called me about a 3rd interview, I missed the call and called them back maybe 30 minutes later and nobody answered, so I left a voice mail, and have never heard from them again.
- At the 2nd interview, they ask what is the exact ROI on direct marketing vs. just regular marketing?

First interview was pretty normal, sit down and discuss yourself and the company. Second was VERY strange in my opinion: I stood by their "event" and took notes about what the person interviewing me was doing (I basically watched them try to convince people to look at/buy their product). It was odd to me that they consider an event a big poster board inside a Sam's Club. I was also very confused that my interviewer told me multiple times that this was not a sales company, yet you were only offered $9/hour + commission once you completed manager training. I think besides asking where i would like to travel, I wasn't asked any other questions about myself. Also, you don't work for the job you apply for, you are immediately launched into this manager training and depending how well you do in the training determines how much $ you make per week. It seems to me that almost everyone there does the same job once they pass the training. Very confusing. Last but not least, after being told my first interviewer "REALLY liked me", she also interviewed me the second time but did not remember that she was the one that interviewed me the first time. I was moved onto the third round of interviews but declined attending the third interview.
- If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?

The interview process was quick and fast paced. It was informative and not a firing squad. Josh was personable. It was in a small office with 3 other people waiting to be interviewed. A back to back all day type deal.
- Where I saw myseldf in 5 years?

Three rounds, 1st one lasted 5 mins, 2nd one takes place in a Sams Club, 3rd is back at the office for ten minutes. All of it very VERY scripted and fast paced. They call by end of day of your interview to inform you if you make it to the next round.
- Why Marketing? What makes you different from the other 3 people im interviewing today? What kind of leader are you?

Their website looks clean, but walk in for an interview and you'll see a receptionist and one office where Josh, the president, "works" from. He has an iPad (no computer) and a few photos staged to make the company look like they had a strong sense of teamwork. There are no other offices visible from the main interest. Yet another, "event based" marketing firm promising a salaried income of 58,000 and walking away with a $10/hr offer instead.
- Are you goal driven or a go-getter?
