      I interviewed at Zuber Lawler

      Interview

The interview process was pretty straightforward. I met with a few partners and enjoyed speaking with each and every one of them. I received an offer soon thereafter, and it was fairly generous. I declined the offer largely because of what I thought was a grossly deficient PTO policy. At the time, the firm provided a mere 10 days of PTO per calendar year. Although employees accrued an additional 9 days of sick leave they were limited to taking only 6 of those days per year. By my count that made for a total of 16 days. For a law firm looking to attract some of the best talent in the market, and competing with larger, more well-established firms to do so, the PTO policy was seriously lacking. And given the nature of the industry (which is an extremely stressful one), the policy made me think management was either unreasonable or oblivious.
