      Interview

The interview process at this company was exhausting, unnecessarily long, and felt like a complete waste of my time in the end. Over the course of a month, I went through seven interviews — starting with a recruiter screen, then a call with the engineering manager, then the staff engineer, followed by four separate technical and behavioral interviews with different team members. That’s nearly a full work week’s worth of hours spent interviewing on top of my full-time job, all while preparing in between. Throughout the process, the team seemed engaged and the conversations felt positive, so I put in the effort, expecting a company that valued the candidates it invested this much time into. The recruiter even told me I’d hear from her directly by the end of the week after my final interview. Instead, I got a cold, automated rejection email. No personal call, no feedback, nothing — just a generic system message. After committing that much time and energy, this was not only disappointing, it was flat-out unprofessional and disrespectful. It made it very clear that despite all the “culture” talk during the interviews, candidate experience is not a real priority here. If this is how they treat people they’re seriously considering for a role, I can only imagine what it’s like working here.
