I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at bp (Colchester, England) in Aug 2014
Interview
First off, we talked about qualities, things about myself that I'd like to improve, what I'd like to learn, what I'd get from working at BP and what they'd get from having me here. The interviewer was friendly and made me more relaxed, she had a nice sense of humour and often smiled and laughed. After that there were a few questions on paper to answer.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
One of the questions on the paper was a picture question asking which foods were fit for selling.
Application
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at bp (flitwick, England) in January 2016.
Interview
Applied online, received a phone call after about a week inviting me for an interview, interviewed a few days after that.
Interview was positive and a nice atmosphere, I felt at ease and could be myself. I was taken to a room with one lady asking me questions and another lady taking notes. I was asked if I wanted a drink and had a coffee made for me (if they offer, take it, it's tasty). I filled in a few sheets about any medical problems and read and signed some rules and regs. I was asked about flexibility and working holidays/nights which seems important to them.
Then came some competency based questions, there were four questions about experience, how you dealt with certain situations etc, what you would expect really. Nothing difficult or any sort of trick questions, they wanted to find out about me more than anything.
After the questions, I was taken onto the shop floor and buddied up with a lady at the checkout to see how I would interact with customers, it was pretty fun. The ladies who interviewed me didn't watch over me as I did this exercise, they were supposed to come back after half an hour and let me go home but I ended up staying for an hour before asking someone if they were coming back (I didn't know if it was part of the exercise or not so I didnt want to ask if I was done in case it hurt my chances). The lady who was writing notes in the interview came to collect me after I asked and it seems they actually forgot about me. She seemed really nice and even offered me her cigarette lighter afterwards.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at bp (London, England) in May 2016
Interview
I met with the manager of the Bp store I had applied for. She was a nice lady and the questions were simple customer service based questions which I found easy to answer. It was all a very relaxed process.
