I applied through college or university. I interviewed at dsm-firmenich
Interview
They were hiring for their summer internship process and made people play a kahoot quiz on them to select for GD and PI. This seemed highly unprofessional as Kahoot proficiency did not reflect anything about a student's technical skills. The least they could have done was resume shortlisting
The process took 1 day. I interviewed at dsm-firmenich (Pune) in Oct 2010
Interview
The company came to our college (Delhi College of Engineering) to recruit engineers (mechanical and polymer branches) for its Sales and Marketing division. There was a Pre Placement Talk (PPT) followed by a Group Discussion.
The PPT was horrible with the presenters simply reading out from the slideshow screen and that too with lots of stumblings and stutterings. Midway through the presentation, two of the presenters even had an argument and a mild scuffle for the microphone! It presented a bad image of the company. I decided to sit for the GD anyway because they were not very clear till then about the compensation and location and it was rumoured to be 30k in hand and in NCR.
I cleared the GD and two rounds of interviews, mostly aptitude and personality tests, by the end of the day and the company had still not revealed the nature of the work, the compensation package or the location. They called me for a final interview in Pune.
There were three interviews scheduled on that day, by the end of the second one I got to know that the work will require me to travel a lot and will have no relation to any of my engineering education. Alarmed at this prospect I declined the offer on the third interview and returned home.
On the whole it was a waste of three days and if they'd been more forthcoming from the beginning, it would have saved me considerable time and money.
