I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at iCapital
Interview
Went through 5 phone calls and was completely ghosted. For some reason they had the cultural fit/HR interview last and it became clear within the first minute that all my other interviews were a complete waste of time. The HR guy was a complete jerk and asked me if I had kids (none of his business, not relevant to the role, and also probably illegal to ask). He also asked me for my “final” comp number even though we hadn’t even discussed salary expectations at all in the interview process. They need to get over themselves . Their work from home inflexibility will be a problem for them if they dont increase pay or stop hiring jerks to be the face of the “cultural fit” interview.

Interview
Quite a few conversations with various team members, seemed very disjointed and was provided no information or context on what to expect in each round. Repeated inquiries with the team were met with silence -- not one response beyond the automated-sounding interview scheduling emails received.
Team seemed very disorganized. Worth a conversation, but the HR function and team at large -- IMO not worth your effort/time. Stay far away. This was for a US based position, so YMMV.

Tell me about how you approach product management.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at iCapital (Hong Kong) in Sep 2024
Interview
I was impressed by how much emphasis iCapital places on cultural fit and relevant experience. The process consisted of eight rounds, starting with an initial HR interview, followed by discussions with my line manager, the regional head, and various function employees. Each round was thorough and focused not only on my skills but also on how well I aligned with the company’s values.
