They will take you for a ride, literally multiple visits to their office. In my case they called me 4 times, and I prepared presentations, gave twice to the leadership team. The panel members themselves were so negative about the organization that I was thinking twice if i have made the right decision during the presentation. One of very senior member said that he fooled the organization in the interview, still they have taken him.
I respect an organization's decision of rejecting a candidate, but here all of a sudden after four round I was made to feel like an ISI agent, that if they receive my call police / RAW will catch them. I even wrote a thank you email to their CLO wishing all the best, but still he did not bother to return my calls or revert to my email. I wrote a positive review on the social media hoping their conscience will knock, but I think they decided to behave like a narcissist.
Its not that I was dying to get the job but was astonished by the way they decided to close all the communication suddenly. I believe that as a candidate I have the right to at least know the result, that could be as short as "no".
I am more so amused because they are in education sector and they have people from IIMs and IITs. I am from HR and I dont remember a single instance I have behaved this way or any of guys from my fraternity. Its an insult to the candidate who has the same dignity as any body else.
The candidate is not expecting you to hire him always, but to be just treated with dignity. I was made to feel like a beggar and finally after three months I came to know that they have hired some one. Now thats too much. You dont have the basic manners and claim to educate young minds to take on the challenges of professional world. Its ridiculous as some one is not taught to respect other human being and graduates from IIT and IIM.
People who are humane are far more better than them. I advise them to take a crash course in understanding the difference between being educated and literate.
Below is the email I wrote to the CLO assuming that I am not selected, which he thinks does not even deserve a courteous "Thank you" reply.
