Position Purpose: The Mentoring Coordinator at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh coordinates and supports the effective implementation of the Level Up program at a school site, helping lead program delivery with active participation from youth, mentors, and school partners to ensure the program is well-integrated into the school environment and has a lasting positive impact on the students involved.
Success of Position: The Mentoring Coordinator will help lead and develop the delivery of the Level Up program with active participation from youth, mentors, and school partners to ensure the program is integrated well into the school environment and has a lasting positive impact on the students involved.
Key Responsibilities:
· Enrollment & Matching: Coordinate and document the enrollment process for youth and mentors during the school year and summertime - including interviews and assessments to recommend group or individual mentoring placements.
· Program Coordination: Manage logistics of school programming, materials, scheduling, attendance tracking, and regular communication with school contacts, while filling in for Mentoring Specialists when needed.
· Match Support: Provide ongoing coaching and resources through check-ins with Littles, PGs, and Mentors, school point-of-contact, and administer necessary surveys.
· Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and timely records with strict adherence to child safety protocols and risk assessment procedures, ensuring compliance with BBBS standards and funding requirements.
· Operate within the bounds of BBBSPGH and BBBSA expectations and standards.
Performance Measures
1. Enrollment and Matching
a. Recruit, enroll, and match identified number of students per grade during the school year
b. Fill out caseload to full capacity
c. Maintain high level quality enrollment services, as measured through ongoing Quality Assurance reviews
2. Program Coordination and Logistics
a. Coordinate and participate in regularly scheduled meetings with school contacts on a consistent basis
b. Create a weekly program schedule for students to attend daily sessions
3. Match Support
a. Complete all Match Support Contacts in accordance with BBBSPGH and BBBSA Standards of Practice
b. Complete all surveys (YOS/COS/SOR) in accordance with BBBSPGH and BBBSA Standards of Practice
c. Maintain high level quality match support services, as measured through ongoing Quality Assurance reviews
4. Documentation and Compliance
a. Follow standard practices of communication cadences and timelines
b. Ensure accuracy in Matchforce data
QUALIFICATIONS
· Your professional background must meet one of the following requirements:
o Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to work focused on social work, counseling, social services, child development, or education
o Associate’s degree and at least 2 years relevant work experience in related fields, such as social work, counseling, social services, child development, or education
o High School Diploma with a minimum of 4 years relevant work experience in related fields, such as social work, counseling, social services, child development, or education.
· Previous experience working in school is preferred.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office; including Work, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
· Working knowledge of and use of a customer relations management (CRM) system a plus (Salesforce preferred)
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· This position will be based out of an assigned school. Attendance at the BBBSPGH headquarters (East Liberty) will be required when school is not in session and as needed.
· Regular hours will be Monday through Friday, aligning with the school hours.
· Must be able to remain in a stationary position 25% of the time
· Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery (e.g., printer, copy machine)
· Must be able to communicate information and ideas clearly and accurately so others will understand
Pay: $42,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
