Job Title: Commercial Lender
Reports To: Chief Credit Officer

Position Summary
This position is responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of commercial clients through relationship based banking. They are expected to maintain strong credit quality and expand deposit funding. This role is customer facing, requiring the use of sound judgment in extension of credit and business development while maintaining a relationship first focus. There is an emphasis on accurate credit administration, complete documentation, and proactive management. The position is expected to provide a high level of customer service and work collaboratively with internal and external customers while supporting the bank’s overall growth objectives.
Essential Duties:
· Develop manage and grow a portfolio of commercial clients
· Generate new business in loan and deposit growth through relationship based networking, referrals, and community involvement
· Structure credit requests to fit client needs while maintaining acceptable levels of risk and profitability
· Actively source and retain client deposit relationships to support funding and margin stability
· Prepare complete and accurate credit writeups and maintain complete file documentation
· Collaborate with credit administration and operations to process loans and customer requests
· Primary point of contact for client requests and provide responsive service and ongoing guidance
· Participate in loan committee meetings, internal reviews, and audits as required
· Have knowledge in multiple faucets of real estate lending
· Assist with obtaining required information for loan applicants regarding verification of employment and deposits, appraisals, credit reports, title work, required insurance coverage, and any other pertinent information necessary for the loan file.
· Process and analyze documents received for all types of loans. Load and categorize documents into the loan origination and core banking software.
· Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent: associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
· Minimum 2 years of lending experience
· Strong understanding of loan documentation requirements and compliance standards
· TRID, HMDA, Fair Lending, RESPA, REG B knowledge
· Excellent organizational skills and ability to work on multiple files and projects simultaneously
· Strong attention to detail
· Effective and professional communication skills, capable of interacting with borrowers, lenders, analysts, and other stakeholders
· Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment
Working Conditions
· Full-time, onsite position
· Participation in after-hours community events expected
· Flexibility as needed to assist in meeting bank and client needs
