Steady Solutions is a fast-growing commercial general contractor and design-build firm operating across the Western U.S. We deliver tenant improvements, facility upgrades, infrastructure improvements, site work, flatwork, parking improvements, and design-build projects for institutional and corporate clients.

Our work spans negotiated, hard-bid, GMP, and multi-site program projects across commercial, industrial, and public-sector environments. As our project volume and operational systems continue to scale, we are seeking a Senior Estimator to help lead and strengthen our estimating operations.

Role Overview

The Senior Estimator will play a key role in the company’s estimating and operational growth strategy. This position is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates, managing bid processes, supporting conceptual budgeting efforts, and helping standardize estimating systems, templates, and workflows across the organization.

This is a highly collaborative, execution-focused role working closely with leadership, operations, project management, field teams, and business development.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Construction Estimating
Lead preparation of detailed commercial construction estimates from conceptual budgeting through final proposal submission. Review drawings, specifications, site conditions, and project requirements to develop complete and accurate pricing. Perform quantity takeoffs and scope analysis for interior and exterior commercial construction projects. Develop ROM budgets, conceptual estimates, negotiated pricing, hard bids, and GMP proposals. Identify scope gaps, constructability concerns, schedule risks, and cost exposures early in the process. Prepare bid clarifications, assumptions, exclusions, alternates, and value engineering recommendations. Support awarded projects with change order pricing, procurement coordination, and buyout assistance.

Subcontractor & Vendor Management
Manage subcontractor and vendor outreach throughout the bidding process. Analyze subcontractor proposals for scope coverage, exclusions, qualifications, and pricing consistency. Develop and maintain subcontractor relationships across multiple trades and regions. Support subcontractor leveling, procurement strategy, and buyout coordination.

Operations & Process Development
Help build and improve estimating systems, templates, workflows, and historical cost databases. Collaborate closely with Operations, Project Management, and Construction teams to improve project turnover and execution continuity. Support development of standardized estimating procedures and reporting practices. Assist leadership with pipeline forecasting, conceptual budgeting, and strategic pricing initiatives.

Technology & Systems
Utilize Procore, Bluebeam, Excel, and estimating software to prepare organized and well-documented estimates. Maintain accurate estimate backups, bid tabs, takeoff records, and cost history documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

5+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating with a general contractor. Strong understanding of commercial construction means, methods, sequencing, and pricing. Experience estimating tenant improvements, renovations, site work, concrete, and commercial interiors. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents. Strong proficiency with Bluebeam, Excel, and construction management software. Experience with conceptual budgeting, negotiated work, and hard-bid procurement environments. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Procore and Sage Intacct is a plus.
