Position Summary
The IT Manager is overall responsible for the reliability, security, and continuous improvement of the technology systems that support the company's manufacturing and business operations. Success in this role requires the ability to work across multiple technical disciplines while translating business objectives into practical, sustainable solutions. Each day begins with ensuring manufacturing systems are fully operational before shifting focus to ongoing projects, user support, and continuous improvement efforts.
This position requires independent decision making, strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision while serving as the primary technical resource for approximately 85 users across two locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manufacturing & Business Systems:
- Serve as the primary administrator for the company's ERP and other business-critical applications
- Ensure manufacturing, inventory, purchasing, and operational systems remain available and reliable
- Troubleshoot complex issues affecting business processes and coordinate with external consultants when specialized expertise is required
- Develop and maintain SQL queries, Crystal Reports, and custom reporting solutions to support operational and management reporting
- Participate in ERP upgrades, system enhancements, and continuous process improvement initiatives
Infrastructure & Operations:
- Administer and maintain Windows Server, VMware, SQL Server, Microsoft 365, networking, firewall, wireless, backup, and printing environments
- Monitor system health and proactively resolve issues before they impact business operations
- Maintain manufacturing technology, security camera systems, and supporting infrastructure
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Manage software licensing and technology lifecycle planning
User Support:
- Provide advanced technical support for approximately 85 users across two manufacturing locations
- Diagnose and resolve issues spanning desktops, servers, networks, ERP systems, databases, and manufacturing applications
- Assist users with system training and technology adoption while maintaining a high level of customer service
Project & Vendor Management:
- Independently manage multiple technology projects from concept through implementation
- Translate business objectives into technical requirements and practical solutions
- Lead technical discussions with outside vendors and consultants
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements that enhance operational efficiency and business continuity
- Assist with technology budgeting and long-term infrastructure planning
Qualifications
Required:
- Five or more years of progressively responsible IT experience supporting business-critical systems
- Experience administering Windows Server environments, virtualization platforms, Microsoft 365, and SQL Server
- Experience supporting enterprise business applications and ERP systems
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to create reports and troubleshoot data-related issues
- Working knowledge of networking, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, backups, and cybersecurity best practices
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects and prioritize work with minimal supervision
Preferred:
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations
- Experience administering manufacturing ERP systems such as Sage X3 or similar platforms
- Experience with Crystal Reports, SQL reporting, or business intelligence tools
- Experience managing outside vendors and technology consultants
- Experience supporting small to mid-sized organizations as the primary IT resource

- Standard schedule begins early to verify manufacturing readiness and support business operations
- Availability during power restoration events or other business-critical outages is expected
- Work priorities are driven by operational needs and active business projects rather than a fixed daily task list
Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
