Senior Preconstruction Leader / Estimating Manager

A well-established and growing electrical contractor is seeking a proven leader to join its Preconstruction team in a highly visible role supporting strategic growth across commercial and healthcare projects.

This position will partner closely with executive leadership and oversee a talented team of estimators responsible for some of the region's most complex projects. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who enjoys mentoring people, improving processes, and helping drive the overall success of the preconstruction function.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of estimators and preconstruction professionals
• Review estimates, proposals, bid strategies, and project risk assessments
• Support workforce planning, recruiting, onboarding, and employee development efforts within the department
• Collaborate with operations, project management, and executive leadership teams throughout the project lifecycle
• Drive process improvements, consistency, and best practices across estimating and preconstruction activities
• Participate in client meetings, presentations, and strategic planning discussions
• Help position the organization for continued growth and operational excellence

Qualifications

• Leadership experience within estimating, preconstruction, project management, or operations
• Commercial electrical construction experience or significant experience supporting healthcare-related construction projects
• Strong understanding of estimating principles, bid strategy, and project execution
• Experience developing teams and building strong internal relationships
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with Accubid and Trimble products
• Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills

Preferred Experience

• Hospitals, healthcare facilities, laboratories, imaging floors, bed towers, or other complex occupied environments
• Large-scale commercial construction projects
• Process improvement, SOP development, and team-building initiatives

Pay: $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year

Experience:

• Electrical Estimating: 5 years (Required)
• Commercial Construction: 5 years (Required)
• Healthcare Construction: 5 years (Preferred)
