Position Overview
The Electrical Applications Engineer serves as a key technical resource supporting electrical power solutions, mission-critical infrastructure projects, and customer application engineering initiatives. This role combines technical engineering expertise, operational troubleshooting, customer engagement, and project coordination to ensure successful implementation of electrical systems that meet performance, efficiency, reliability, and compliance standards.
The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, power systems analysis, mission-critical infrastructure, and data center operations, with the ability to communicate complex technical solutions clearly to customers, internal teams, and manufacturing partners.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Electrical Engineering & Application Support
- Provide technical application support for electrical power distribution systems and mission-critical infrastructure solutions.
- Consult with end-users, electrical engineers, contractors, and clients to influence product specifications and system design strategies.
- Support electrical system design reviews, equipment applications, and operational improvements.
- Analyze electrical system performance and recommend solutions that improve capacity, reliability, efficiency, and sustainability.
- Assist with troubleshooting electrical system issues and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) with corrective action documentation.
- Review and support RFIs, RFPs, technical proposals, and engineering specifications.
- Support commissioning, startup activities, and operational turnover for electrical infrastructure projects.
Data Center & Mission-Critical Infrastructure Support
- Support mission-critical facility projects including data centers, power distribution environments, and critical infrastructure applications.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, safety, and project teams to maintain consistency and reliability in electrical system performance.
- Participate in engineering audits, site assessments, and risk mitigation initiatives.
- Assist with infrastructure upgrades and design enhancements that improve operational efficiency and system availability.
- Support energy-efficient and sustainable electrical infrastructure initiatives.
Collaboration & Training
- Work cross-functionally with sales teams, R&D, manufacturing partners, and operations teams to support customer solutions.
- Develop and deliver technical training materials and presentations for internal teams and external customers.
- Translate complex electrical concepts into practical business and operational value for customers.
- Provide customer-facing technical expertise during meetings, presentations, and project discussions.
Compliance & Industry Standards
- Ensure electrical systems and applications comply with industry standards including UL, NEC, IEC, NFPA 70E, and related safety requirements.
- Promote safe electrical design practices and operational excellence across projects and client engagements.
- Support documentation, reporting, and compliance initiatives related to electrical engineering standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering, applications engineering, power systems, or mission-critical infrastructure environments.
- Strong understanding of:

- Experience reviewing technical specifications, RFIs/RFPs, and proposal documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in fast-paced environments.
- Strong presentation and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting data center infrastructure or mission-critical facilities.
- Familiarity with commissioning, construction support, and operational turnover activities.
- Experience with electrical system modeling, analysis, or monitoring platforms.
- Proficiency with engineering and design software including:
- AutoCAD Electrical
- EPLAN
- SKM Power Tools
- Revit
- MATLAB
- SPICE
- Knowledge of EPMS systems, power monitoring, and energy efficiency initiatives.
- Experience with Salesforce or CRM platforms.
- Understanding of PCB design, circuit analysis, or advanced electrical diagnostics is a plus.
- LV/HV Qualified or NFPA 70E training preferred.
