Job Title: Boiler & Steam Turbine Plant Operator (MN Chief A License)
Reports To: Energy & Utilities Systems Coordinator
SUMMARY
Operates high-pressure steam boilers, steam turbines and other related steam systems auxiliary equipment, cooling towers, chiller/chilled water system, air compressors, water treatment systems, wells, and other related utilities type equipment.
This position works 12 hour rotating shifts, which include day and night shifts and every other weekend.
The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a blend of technical know-how, and the ability to respond swiftly to any operational anomalies. Tasked with the meticulous operation, monitoring, and control of systems, this position plays a vital role in maintaining optimal production, efficiency, and safety of our operations.

QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a current State of Minnesota Chief Class A Engineers license.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Experience with or ability to learn functions and use of computerized process control systems (DCS, PLC, etc) and their integration with the plant equipment and systems and/or applicable operator interface. Experience with and/or ability to learn functions and use of various other software programs (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel) and other platforms.
LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety procedures, safety data sheets, rules, operating and maintenance instructions, equipment manuals, standard operating procedures, and P&ID’s (Process and Instrumentation Diagrams). Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding, logic/reasoning to carry out tasks and follow instructions furnished in written, oral, and/or diagram form.

Work in 100º F to -20º F temperatures, work on up to 80’ high platforms, and work in confined spaces. Compensation: $42.00+ per hour, depending on qualifications and experience
