St. Olaf College challenges students to excel in the liberal arts, examine faith and values, and explore meaningful vocation in an inclusive, globally engaged community nourished by Lutheran tradition.
St. Olaf College is located on top of a hill, surrounded by natural lands, in beautiful Northfield, MN. We are a residential campus known for having excellent fine arts programs and study abroad opportunities, for being academically rigorous, and for being one of the Colleges that Change Lives. Conversations sparked by our faculty continue between students over coffee and meals in the caf and many businesses and big ideas are traced back to St. Olaf.
Student outcomes also reflect the devotion of our 800 faculty and staff to develop substantive, curious learners — 96% of our students are either employed or in grad school following graduation.

Living in Northfield, MN:
This community of 20,000 people is home to two outstanding institutions: St. Olaf College and our crosstown rivals Carleton College (with whom we share many amenities). Northfield, MN, is also noteworthy for its history and its quaint and classic downtown area filled with adorable shops and traditional events (including a celebration of the defeat of the James-Younger Gang and a winter carnival).
This city is large enough have a brand new movie theater, a Target, a co-op grocery store, a hospital, unique K-12 options, and many wonderful restaurants featuring international and American fare. Plus, we're just a 45-minute drive from Minneapolis/St. Paul where you'll find the MSP international airport, great theater and dining options, and shopping — from the larger than life Mall of America to specialty indoor marketplaces like Keg & Case or Midtown Global Market. There's always something to do, and new to explore, in Minnesota.
